Margo M. Smith is Vice President and General Counsel for Verigy. She is responsible for Verigy’s legal affairs and compliance on a worldwide basis and also serves as the company’s Chief Privacy Officer.
Ms. Smith joined Verigy shortly before Verigy’s spin-off from Agilent in 2006. Before being named Vice President and General Counsel in February 2010, she served as Verigy’s Deputy General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer. Ms. Smith has more than 12 years of experience representing public and private companies in corporate and securities law matters.
Prior to joining Verigy, Ms. Smith was an attorney at Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati, a leading national law firm. There, she represented and counseled many well-known corporations with respect to both business and legal issues, including corporate governance and compliance, mergers and acquisitions, strategic relationships, employment law matters, commercial transactions and board of directors counseling.
Ms. Smith holds a JD degree from the Columbia University School of Law and a BA degree from the University of Washington. She is admitted to practice law in the state of California.
