A: I'm good at setting a mutual goal for Verigy and the customer, then leading the team to achieve it. I like to formulate strategy to achieve goals using breakthrough ideas. My motto is "Delight the customer with a smile," and I always pursue the "win-win". I like to go beyond expectations, and do it with fun.

Q: How would you describe the corporate culture?
A: Verigy's culture fosters an atmosphere of innovation and teamwork.
Q: How would you describe your career path to reach your current position?
A: I've had an interesting and varied career with the company. My first job (in HP) was product marketing of the first mixed signal testers in the company. I then moved to Application Engineering to develop the test program for the products I had worked on. Afterwards, I went into Sales to sell the products I used to use, and had much success as the Account Manager at a major customer. I ended up winning the HP Presidents Club award in 1995, and won vendor awards from my customer for five years in a row. I was ready for a new challenge, and moved to the US as a Field Sales Engineer to sell the same products I'd dealt with in Japan. Returning to Japan after this assignment, I moved to the semiconductor sales area of SPG in Agilent, and eventually was able to move into a customer-facing position with what became Verigy. I'm proud of having been awarded the Verigy Presidents Cup in 2007, its first year. Verigy gives people the opportunity to try new things in an environment of continuous learning. I've really appreciated the flexibility I've had in my career, and the ability to follow technology from concept to use by a customer account.
Q: What is most challenging about your job?
A: Ensuring alignment between the customer's needs and the Verigy solutions, across different cultures and nationalities.
Q: What cool projects have you worked on?
A: I had the opportunity to work on two major deals with gaming system providers. We made a big contribution to the customers' business by working with customer's customers. We found that we could do great work and still delight our customers with smile/fun.
Q: What is unique about your role?
A: My role requires close work with overseas colleagues, as well as engaging and selling overseas customers.
Q: What are your goals at Verigy?
A: I want to continue to win with customers as global account manager, and have fun doing it.
Q: How do you balance work/life issues?
A: It's been easy for me to balance work and life in Verigy.
